Sensational Swigging at Seventh Son

When the brilliant brewmeisters at Seventh Son were founding their top Columbus microbrewery in 2013, I was in California, washing my hands of journalism for good.

As such, missed the rise of one of the most iconic beer brands in Ohio, which grew over the past decade into a chain of three hip and inviting breweries in Columbus and retail coverage throughout the state.

In 2013, I left my position as editor of AOL’s Patch in San Clemente after asking for a layoff/buyout. Patch, AOL’s network of local news sites aimed at replacing the hollowed-out newspaper industry, was a great idea that didn’t work. That’s when I moved into marketing.

Seventh Son, however, took off like a rocket. You can’t get Seventh Son in California, but their downtown brewery was one of the first restaurant’s I visited when I moved here. (This visit was via pedal taxi, but that will be another post).

In the video on this post, I sat next to the fire on a blustery spring day and got to business, tasting some of the goodness I missed on the West Coast.
